The Wooden Arse of Troy (c.1200BC)

Historical Wing

Built by the greeks in order to penetrate the city of Troy, this enormous wooden anus was left as an offering outside the city gates. King Priam and the Trojans were taken by surprise when a thousand of Agamemnon's soldiers climbed out of the lower intestine in the dead of night to rescue Helen. Helen of Troy we remember as the face that launched a thousand butts (sometimes misspelled boats).
